Our new concept in shipboard entertainment aboard Holland America Line is the new “Showroom At Sea”. The centerpiece of this new entertainment lineup is a musical repertory company, showcasing singers from two distinct vocal styles, one operetta/legitimate musical theatre and the other Broadway/contemporary pop, as well as dancers and a musical comedy actor. Various combinations of performers appear each night… from two classical singers backed by a 14-piece orchestra, to a four man pop/rock doo-wop group on a street corner, to a singing host and his guests in a fictitious Vegas nightclub, to an ensemble for the ultimate Broadway tribute.  Please check out the "Showroom At Sea" page audition for requirements.

Receiving this note for the first time? Then you've either recently auditioned for us, or signed up on our website to receive audition alerts. WELCOME…we're glad you're here! We'll keep you updated with what is going on in our casting office and studios. You may know about performing…and you may know about cruise ships…but at STILETTO we've brought the two together into the best combination. Performing award-winning shows, seeing the world from the deck of a 5-star luxury cruise ship…and getting paid to do what you love! In the next few paragraphs you'll see that we've got lots going on, from terrific male and female dancer opportunities, to positions for Broadway/contemporary pop singers and even operetta/legit style singers, so welcome aboard!

In Rehearsal News…
We have a full house right now.  The Oosterdam is in final review days and they are an incredible cast!   The Nieuw Amsterdam is mid-rehearsals, looking and sounding fantastic!  The Volendam “Showroom at Sea” entertainers are about to give us their first office performance today.  We can’t wait to watch these lovely ladies and musical comedian extraordinaire present “Dinner Belles.”  Also, the Zuiderdam cast has just started day one on their feet and we’re already hearing good things!  What A LOT of talented people in one place!  In addition, the Eurodam is set to arrive in a couple of weeks too.  We can’t wait to welcome them here to LA!  Then, our World Cruise cast will join us on October 25.  This group of talented performers is set to embark on three different ships during the course of their contract!  They will set sail on the Amsterdam and end on the Prinsendam AND spend an exciting six weeks onboard Seabourn’s “Quest” in between.
 
In Audition News…
This month we are heading to one of our favorite audition sites…London!  We will be hearing singers at Pineapple Studios on October 13, and we will see dancers on October 14.  Then, later in the month it’s off to Vegas.  Our general auditions at The Rock Center for Dance are on October 23.  On October 24 we will be auditioning for our “Showroom At Sea” productions.   We love to see all of our STILETTO friends while we’re out on the road, so please feel free to stop by and say “hi” if you are nearby!  The remaining cities on our 2011 Audition Tour are posted on our website at www.STILETTOentertainment.com.  As always, we encourage veterans to recommend friends and send more talented folks our way.   As always, veterans can find their next ship opportunity by checking out the Casting Matrix on the website!  As for 2012, James and I are almost finished planning those audition tour dates and cities.  We’re super stoked to announce that we have a few new cities to add to our list for next year.  Keep an eye open for our 2012 audition tour information in the coming months.  If you know of a fabulous studio or classroom where you feel we should hang a poster or audition announcement, please let us know!  We will send you some flyers!
 
In Ship News…
•The Statendam entertainers have just repositioned to warmer latitudes. Enjoy the sunshine in Mexico and Panama, you guys!
•The Noordam & Nieuw Amsterdam casts, as well as the Rotterdam & Ryndam entertainers, are delighting passengers with great shows while enjoying Europe.
•Our Maasdam entertainers and the Eurodam cast are lucky to be experiencing the changing of the leaves and the crisp autumn air in Canada and New England.
•The Veendam entertainers are completing their Bermuda runs and heading to South America.
•And, the Volendam entertainers are currently savoring the South Pacific on their way Down Under!  (James and I are somehow trying to work in a business trip to check in on them….ha!) 
•The Zaandam cast is cruising in Hawaii and Mexico this month.
•Our Amsterdam cast is about to cross the International Date Line and indulge in the 70-day Grand Voyage around Asia and Australia.
•Meanwhile, our Prinsendam cast is exploring the Holy Land and the Venetian Empire during October.
•The Zuiderdam cast is on festive Caribbean runs out of Fort Lauderdale and the Westerdam cast gets to cruise Hawaii, Bora Bora and Tahiti during this month.            
•The Oosterdam cast has just finished their contract and is enjoying some much deserved land time while the ship is in dry dock.

In Other News…
