LOS ANGELES, CA (May 8, 2008) - Acclaimed producer/composer/multi-instrumentalist, Brian Culbertson celebrates the biggest first-week album sales of his career with his new album, Bringing Back the Funk (GRP Records), which hit stores everywhere on April 29th. The CD, which pays homage to the classic, yet timeless funk music genre, debuted at #1 on this week’s Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Album’s chart and broke into the Top 100 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart. Bringing Back the Funk was executive produced by living legend, Maurice White of Earth, Wind and Fire and boasts an all-star ensemble of musicians including, William "Bootsy" Collins, Musiq Soulchild, Ledisi, Larry Graham, Gerald Albright, Phelps "Catfish" Collins, Larry Dunn, Sheldon Reynolds, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Greg Adams, Tony Maiden, Bobby Watson, Michael Bland, Cora Dunham, Rhonda Smith, Ray Parker Jr., David T.
